Pocket Pals — Privacy Policy

Updated: 16 October 2026. Developer: Lookesh Aagarwal. Android package: com.pocketpals.app.

Your screen stays private

Pocket Pals does not read or record your screen or the contents of other apps. The pet overlay only draws your selected companion and responds to touches on its own window. It does not capture screenshots, screen recordings or messages from underlying apps.

No Pocket Pals account is required. Pet settings and unlock progress stay on your device. Advertising and Firebase Analytics still process app/device data as explained below; Pocket Pals is not a zero-data app.

Current app versions

This policy covers current advertising and premium-purchase builds, including version 2.0.5. Older version 1.1 (code 2) was an offline build without advertising SDKs. Features and data processing differ by app version; test ad identifiers do not prevent all Google SDK processing.

About Pocket Pals

Pocket Pals displays animated animals above your home screen and other apps. No account is required. The developer does not operate an account database or upload your pet preferences. This does not mean that the app collects no data: Google advertising, consent and Firebase Analytics SDKs process the data described below.

Saved on your device

Ownership, reward progress, preferences and any legacy balances are stored locally. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local data. Android cloud backup is disabled and app data is excluded from device-transfer rules. Previously unlocked looks stay unlocked when upgrading.

Advertising and consent

Pocket Pals includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). UMP checks whether a privacy message is required. Advertising initializes and preloads only when UMP permits ad requests. Rewarded advertising is shown after you tap an unlock button. A dismissible App Open ad may be shown on an eligible return to the app, and an adaptive banner may appear above the navigation bar. Ads are not shown inside the pet overlay. Premium owners do not receive in-app ads. Settings displays Privacy choices when Google requires that entry point.

Google's SDKs collect and share information such as IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), app/ad interactions, diagnostic information including performance and crash information, and device or other identifiers. Purposes include advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google reports that SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS. These services may process data outside your country, and Google's policies govern its retention and privacy rights. Test IDs do not disable all SDK data processing. Test ads do not earn publisher revenue.

See Google's Privacy Policy, Google advertising information and Google Mobile Ads data disclosures. You can also manage advertising identifiers in Android settings.

Firebase Analytics

Pocket Pals uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app opens, views of its own pages and feature interactions such as navigation, displaying a pet, rewarded-unlock outcomes and premium purchase status. An analytics “screen view” is the name of a Pocket Pals page, such as Home, Collection or Settings; it is not an image or recording of your screen. The app sends app-action labels, version information and non-personal catalog identifiers such as species and color-variant IDs. It does not send your name, email address, free-form search text, underlying screen content, purchase token or the content of other apps. Firebase automatically processes device and app information, approximate location derived from IP address, identifiers and usage events according to Google's documentation. Analytics is used to measure reliability, engagement and feature usefulness. Data can appear in Firebase real-time and aggregate reports. See Firebase privacy and security and Google Analytics privacy information.

Google Play purchases

Pocket Pals Forever is an optional one-time purchase for character access and ad removal. Google Play displays the applicable local price and handles payment and purchase records. The app queries product and ownership information, processes purchase status and acknowledges completed purchases through Google Play Billing. It stores the premium entitlement locally so it can apply the unlock and remove ads, and can query Google Play to restore ownership. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details through the app. Purchase-status analytics do not contain payment details or purchase tokens. Google controls payment processing and related retention; see Google Payments Privacy Notice.

Permissions and overlays

Display over other apps shows your selected pet. The app handles touches on its pet window but does not read, record or transmit content from underlying apps. Foreground-service and notification permissions support the visible overlay with Pause and Hide controls. Display size and screen on/off events are processed locally to position the pet and pause animation. The app does not use Android screen-capture APIs or an accessibility service to inspect other apps. Vibration supports optional feedback. Internet and network-state permissions support ads and consent; advertising dependencies may declare advertising-ID, ad-services and wake-lock permissions. No camera, microphone, contacts, GPS/location permission or accessibility-service access is requested. IP-derived approximate location used by Google SDKs is separate from GPS access.

Sharing, deletion and external links

The developer does not sell personal data. Google SDK processing and sharing are described above. Clearing local app storage does not delete information already processed by Google; use Google's privacy tools for that information. Opening this policy launches your external browser: the browser and GitHub Pages hosting provider can process normal web-request information. Emailing support shares your email address and the message you choose to send with us and email providers. Please avoid sensitive personal information.

Version history and audience

Version 1.0 test builds also included advertising SDKs. Version 1.1 (code 2) was an offline build without those SDKs; its no-collection description does not apply to later advertising and analytics builds. Pocket Pals is intended for ages 13 and above, not children under 13. Future changes to data practices will be reflected in this policy and the app-store declaration.
